?1200/1 Archbishop Hubert Walter comes to Evesham
1202 August 15th: Mauger, bishop of Worcester, makes first attempt to visit Evesham. August 17th: the convent refuses to accept his visitation. August 23rd: bishop Mauger excommunicates the convent
1203 ?Spring: archbishop Hubert Walter comes again to Evesham. First written record of the abbey's customs and revenues made. May 22nd: enquiry made into the bishop's rights over the abbey committed to judges delegate, the pope reserving judgement for himself
1204 September to November: abbot Norreis and Thomas of Marlborough, as proctor, set out for Rome to appeal against the bishop
1205 April 24th: report of the papal commission in England, granting immediate jurisdiction over the abbey to the bishop, but referring the long-term decision to the pope. December 24th: Pope Innocent III declares the abbey's exemption
1206 January 18th: the papal sentence "Ex ore sedentis" is put into writing
1208 March 23rd: the papal interdict on England is pronounced
1214 January 20th-22nd: election of Randulf, Prior of Worcester, as abbot. July 2nd: papal interdict on England relaxed
1216 February 16th: papal confirmation of the disposition of the revenues and customs of the house
1229 December 17th: death of abbot Randulf. December 20th: election of Thomas of Marlborough as abbot
1230 May 2nd: Thomas of Marlborough re-elected as abbot of Evesham
